Valerie Harvey,
BSc (Hons), PGCE, Dip ION, MBANT Nutritional
Therapist
Valerie is a
nutritional therapist specialising in the provision
of personal nutritional programmes tailored to
individual health and life-style needs. As well as
having a practice in Wimbledon, she works with a
team of General Practitioners and complementary
therapists at Westover House in Southwest London.
Her clients include people of all ages, from young
children to the elderly, with a wide range of
health needs.
She is a member of
the British Association for Nutritional Therapy and
covered by the association's codes of ethics and
practice and is fully insured as a nutritional
therapist.

As well as
practicing as a nutritional therapist, she is a
senior lecturer and clinical supervisor teaching on
the BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy course at the
University of Westminster. In addition, she teaches
nutrition to herbalists and other complementary
therapists.
With a first degree
in chemistry, Valerie trained as a nutritional
therapist at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition,
ION, from which she graduated with distinction and
won the top graduate award. Her teaching career
includes a period as a tutor for ION's Nutritional
Consultant Diploma Course. More recently, she
taught trainee nutritional therapists at Raworth
College.
As a consultant,
she has worked with schools to develop healthy
eating programmes. This involves working with chefs
and catering staff on menus for nutritious school
meals, providing advice on sourcing good quality
food as well as talking to parents and staff about
the principles and benefits of sound
nutrition.
